H.M.S. CURACOA 1/96. scale One of the most famous cruisers to serve in world war 11 for all the wrong reasons. She was of course run down in the Atlantic off Bloody Foreland, North of Ireland, by the liner Queen Mary. At this time in her life she had been converted to an A/a cruiser. Curacoa was launched at Pembroke dockyard on the 5th May 1917, on a dispacement of 4358 tons. Her 40,000 shp engines gave her a top speed of 29.5 knots. As launched her weapons fit was 5 x 6" BL guns 2 x 3" Q,F, and 2 x 2pd plus an outfit of 8 x 212 t/tubes. The glassfibre hull for this ship is plated and detailed with armour belt strakes moulded into the hull. Length 1.455 mm Beam 140 mm Depth 100 mm
