
S/.Y. NAPSUGAR
This elegant steam yacht was constructed by Thorneycrofts at Wollston for a private customer around 1909. The name NAPSUGAR is Hungarian for “sunray” and is also a girls name Napsugar being one of the Vestal Virgins .
She was powered by a twin cyliner double acting engine giving a max sped of 12 knots, quite fast fotRthe time , and a cruising speed of 9.5 knots on a length of 73ft with a shallow draught of 3ft aft.
THE KIT.
This model is based on a glass-fibre hull with full plating and port detail.
The main deck is from 1/16th marine sycamore faced plywood with LASER ETCHED deck planking.
The ships boat and ventilator cowls, are supplied as vacforming in 1mm styrene, and to complete the model a full set of detailed fittings in cast metal and resine are included in the kit.
To add the superfine detail to this elegant model, a full sheet of brass etched parts of over components add the glass case detail to this model.
