This ship was constructed by the Appledore Shipbuilders of Appledore North Devon, as the MERCIA SHORE, in 1976 for duties in the North sea as a oil rig supply and Anchor handling vessel. She is now owned and run by Tidewater Marine Inc of New Orleans U.S.A. who we thank for there assistance with this model
She is powered by twin Diesel engines and twin rudders, plus a bow thruster for outstanding handling in the notorious waters of the North sea. Her displacement is 1284 tons, She has since been renamed and refitted as the TIDEWATER SERVICE.

The hull is moulded in heavy glass fibre and is moulded up to the deck line. As the bulwarks are recessed onto the deck, they will require fitting as individual items.
